Okay, need some help here. Why was this bridge built? The Memorial Bridge, built in 1928, seems capable of handling traffic from Quincy to... all points west. Truckers going east from Kansas City would generally use U.S. 36, not U.S. 24, and cross the river downstream. Is there something to the west of Quincy that I just don't know about, or do more farmers transport corn over the bridge than I thought? — Rob 18:16, 14 January 2006 (UTC)
