the battle

it was a castilian victory, not french-castilian, the forces were castilian like the ships. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 77.210.189.65 ( talk) 16:17, 10 March 2009 (UTC) ->No it's a Franco-castilian. Swax, 18:36 - 26/12/2009 reply

In the first phase (the naval battle, 22 June 1372) only Castilian ships took part. Then began the second phase (a siege, until August 23), where Bertrand du Guesclin commanded the Franco-Castilian forces. -- Zaqarbal ( talk) 19:06, 26 December 2009 (UTC) reply
My understanding is that the Castilians were the main part of the fleet but were assisted by small french craft joined in, quickly moving men around the bigger ships. can somebody check this? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 122.110.162.27 ( talk) 08:40, 2 November 2010 (UTC) reply
The bibliography on this battle usually refers to the same historical sources, and as far as I know, none of them mention French boats taking part in the first phase. Anyway, just in case anyone wants to look up on the chronicles... in French:
And Thomas Rymer's Foedera... in Latin: Volume III. Actually, there are only a few texts from the time about the battle, so historians can do little more than refer to them. -- Zaqarbal ( talk) 09:59, 7 November 2010 (UTC) reply

Isn't there supposed to be a "#" sign or something of the sort next to the Earl of Pembroke's name?-- 189.33.40.151 ( talk) 04:52, 9 August 2009 (UTC) reply
