Germans?

Should they be treated as subjects of the Kingdom of Germany or as subjects of the HRE? Given the fact that the so-called "Germany" was not a separate state. HernánCortés1518 ( talk) 20:58, 6 June 2022 (UTC) reply

The contingent led by Conrad III is universally described as 'German' in secondary sources (and most primary sources - the French were recorded as saying "Pousser les Allemands" to slow moving German crusaders in a contemporary source), so the distinction is not a problem because Wikipedia is constrained by relevant scholarly usage.
