Castaños' army wasn't equal to Dupont's forces. <-- Considering there are no numbers for either general it is hard to say whether Castaño had a larger or smaller force than Dupont. Anyone know? bDerrly talk contr 12:15, 5 May 2005 (UTC)
Well folks, I've put a lot of work editing this page and making it readable but it still needs a lot of work. I'm going to do some more research to make the information more substantiated. Hopefully we can get this thing up to snuff and make it a viable resource for information on the battle. bDerrly talk contr 12:26, 6 May 2005 (UTC)
Dupont and his soldiers were transported on English ships to Rochefort harbour because the Spanish junta in Seville didn't recognise the pact under which they were sent to Cadiz. The part about the junta is correct, bu it lacks inf o that he british admiral collingwood also refused to bing them to france without allowance of his government.-- Tresckow 20:27, 29 August 2007 (UTC)

Hi, I'll be reviewing this article for Good Article status. At first read, it is quite impressive. I enjoyed your style of writing, and appreciate the effort you went to with detail. There are a few issues that need some attention, but I think these will be easily addressed. At any rate, I'll watchlist the article and as long as progress is made, I'll keep the review open.

"However, his messengers were all intercepted and killed and a French division under General Dominique Vedel, dispatched by Dupont to clear the road to Madrid, became separated from the main body."
This doesn't seem to make sense. Were the messengers separated from the main body? 2A01:C22:A542:A00:F43C:5EDD:84CB:3AC9 ( talk) 06:47, 21 May 2024 (UTC)
