I believe the wife of a life peer is properly styles as "lady X of Y" and not "baroness X of Y", as the latter is the style of a woman life peer in her own right. Correct me if I'm wrong. Ulpian 19:57, 9 June 2006 (UTC)
It's not clear where she was born, although one can assume she was born in Britain from the subsequent paragraph? Mdecker london 08:09, 29 October 2006 (UTC)
However, in 1992 she defended David Irving in her Sunday Times column [1] [2] and has also defended Jean-Marie Le Pen.
The above quote has been removed from the article. The source is Irving's own site so we could do with further investigation. If anyone could find a copy of the July 5, 1992 edition of the Sunday Times to verify the article referred to it would be helpful. Catchpole 18:06, 24 November 2006 (UTC)
Any further additions to the article should make it clear that the Irving writings were about free-speech issues, not Irving's Hitler revisionism. People of Jewish heritage who are strong supporters of Israel tend not to have much use for Irving's views. Implying that Amiel has, would look odd. 65.89.68.24 ( talk) 16:30, 9 March 2009 (UTC)
Why is there no discussion of her many references in the legal proceedings against Conrad Black (e.g., lavish birthday parties paid for with corporate funds)?
How is this allowed? "Lord Black bought a full pardon from President Donald Trump in May 2019" — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:41:C402:57D0:7DF9:2BAF:5D47:6675 ( talk) 04:27, 9 September 2020 (UTC)
School friends say that she lived in a middle-class house at that time. She would have had difficulty getting into university if she had left formal education at the age of 14. It might have been difficult to get a job or dole at 14. I am not familiar with Canadian conditions at that time.
<><><><><> Something in her reported lifestyle does not add up; quite wierd actually. According to the UK Telegraph she owns a "$2.6 million, 26-carat diamond ring that he (Black) had bought for her" but nightly, her "day ends with hand laundry". Good grief, why would anyone with huge assets such as this bother to clean their underwear? For a few bucks a piece, why not wear a fresh, clean pair every day and save the laundry time at the sink? http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jhtml?xml=/news/2007/07/13/wconrad213.xml
Lots of rich people have simple tastes in some things, however lavish their lifestyle may be otherwise. Cooking at home is also popular with some of them, though they can afford cooks, and maids, and washers-up.
Also, for personal wear, lots of items are more comfortable when they are broken in, and you don't want to be getting new ones all the time. Shoes, for example. 65.89.68.24 ( talk) 16:12, 9 March 2009 (UTC)
I noticed recently that this Amiel has been tagged as an atheist. Nowhere in this article does it talk about her religious beliefs. Shouldn't a category addition need to rely on a reference to this? Unless someone does soon I will remove these categories. Atrian 13:54, 18 August 2007 (UTC)
This section only references four of the five husbands listed in the side-panel. Valetude ( talk) 00:00, 20 November 2013 (UTC)

What exactly was it about the Vogue interview that provoked Hollinger International to take legal action against the couple and other executives? It seems to have just been Barbara boasting how many fur coats she'd got. Valetude ( talk) 19:59, 1 November 2019 (UTC)
surprised that no one has mentioned this. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.69.65.128 ( talk) 22:52, 2 November 2020 (UTC)
