I dislike this sentence –
This makes little sense to the average non-Indian/non-Bengali reader... in fact, I'm not quite sure what it means either. I'm assuming the writer meant that the majority are Indian Bengalis, not "Bangals". However, I won't make the distinction. I have dabbed [[Bengali]]s to [[Bengali people|Bengali]]s for now. — riana_dzasta • t • c • e • 03:53, 29 July 2006 (UTC)
There are other ethnicities in Bangladesh such as Chakma, Marma, etc. Bangladeshi =/= Bengali, therefore such distinction. Wherescitation ( talk) 06:03, 12 August 2022 (UTC)
What is meant by most Bangladeshi Americans being ethnically Bengali is that some immigrants from Bangladesh to America are actually not Bengali by language/ethnicity. There are many other ethnicities in Bangladesh, including Garos, Bodos, Santals, and Chakmas, many of whom have emigrated to the West. Their number is quite small, so I'm not surprised that not many know of this, but they exist and I felt it would be respectful to keep in mind that not all Bangladeshis are Bengali. -- SameerKhan 07:55, 29 July 2006 (UTC)
(See Talk: Pakistani American) The term Bangladeshi American seems semantically problematic to me for the same reason the term Pakistani American does. At least one person didn't agree with me on the Pakistani American issue and certainly won't here, either. Gringo300 ( talk) 08:54, 11 December 2007 (UTC)
please stop posting the picture jazzmin in the bangladeshi american section. i have romeoved it because bangladeshis are mostly muslims, and pornography is looked down by us. posting a pic of a bangladeshi porn star is inarppriate —Preceding unsigned comment added by Rabbi4455 ( talk • contribs) 22:34, 20 June 2009 (UTC)

Is it worth including online prankster Rahat Hossain in the list of notable Bangladeshi Americans? His videos have been viewed by millions. I THINK he's of Bangladeshi origin (the spelling of his surname suggests so) but I'm not entirely sure, and have no way of finding out. Any ideas?? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 93.174.8.204 ( talk) 14:17, 4 June 2015 (UTC)
