I recently roll back someone's edit because -- the book has been banned; the entire second edition disappeared. And much of the first was destroyed.

This is a perfect example of a book that should be part of project gutenberg. The book was banned and/or destroyed when it was published and it is out of copyright. I searched gutenberg on 2009-03-04 and neither the author's full name nor the word banditti produce results, so I don't think it's there. Does anyone know of a digitized (scanned or OCR'ed) copy of the original (not the more recently published version, because the forward in that by Kittrell is still in copyright)? Update: There is a listing in google books for the original version, but the text is not available. And there are 5 copies of the original available through abe books for US$5,000 to US$10,000, which makes me wary of asking someone to scan an original copy.
