The entire paragraph about Cherwell Edge seems to be an advert for the golf club (and put in for that reason?). A separate Cherwell Edge entry containing just this has already been deleted. Speaking to a local they were not aware of the name being anything other than that of the golf club; there is no mention of the name in referenced material; it doesn't appear on an OS map. Saying that the area was cleared "many years ago" doesn't mean anything: how long is many years?
