The photo at this site claims the Xplorer (United States) locomotive weighed 48,000 pounds or 24 short tons (the explanatory page here mentions that the photos were taken in 1956 in Columbus, Ohio). At this time this article claims the locomotive weighed "198,300 lb (89.9 t)" (in the infobox) or "99-ton" (third paragraph in article body).
