The article states that the name "BASF" is an acronym, but I believe it to be an abbreviation, as an acronym is generally pronounced as one word. How does one pronounce "BASF", if so? Pookiyama ( talk) 19:47, 18 January 2019 (UTC)
In the 80s and 90s I recall seeing the BASF name on video cassettes sold in the US. But I didn't se anything about this mentioned in the article, which I find a bit odd as it was the first (and last) time I remember seeing the name. Shouldn't there be something in the business segments section about this? 98.11.100.169 ( talk) 18:48, 23 December 2020 (UTC)
I've also seen audio cassettes, and I'm pretty sure they made computer floppy disks as well. 97.107.46.245 ( talk) 12:52, 4 October 2022 (UTC)
The first sentences in several parts of the History section are phrased passively, and so it's completely unclear how what is first written about soda, sulfuric acid, and ammonia relate to BASF.
