Because the RAAF BAC 1-11 217EA is neither a 200 series nor a 300 series, I propose to insert a Variant along the following lines:
217 Hot-rod version for the RAAF using a 200 series fuselage with RR Spey Mk511-14 engines, low-pressure tyres, a navigator's station and a sextant hatch in the cockpit ceiling. Two built.

As I curated a gallery page on commons, I replaced the previous main picture by a new one:
I replaced it without discussion, as I thought the new one is much better: it is inflight; it points towards the text; there is no distracting background; it better illustrates the aircraft configuration : a low wing airliner, moderately swept, with two aft mounted low-bypass engines and a T-tail. It is a bit grainy, but hey, it's the era! And being a Tarom aircraft, it reminds the history of Romanian production. If you disagree, feel free to revert. There are other possibilities in the gallery linked above.-- Marc Lacoste ( talk) 14:07, 4 November 2020 (UTC)
