That's weird because I specifically remember the game's box art having the Free French flag (with the Cross of Lorraine), instead of having the more historically correct flag of (Vichy) France without the cross of Lorraine.

I thought it was just France in that game and they go dead last.

I thought it specifically said in the manual that France is (clearly) a separate power with its own turn sequence and its money is managed separately from the other powers in the game.
