The term " protected marine environments" used in the opening sentence was replaced with the term " marine protected area" because this is the term used by the Australian government to describe all types of protected areas used for marine environments by Australian, state and territory governments - please refer http://www.environment.gov.au/system/files/pages/761994ab-42cc-4f24-952c-c21221861884/files/national-capad-2016m.xlsx. In fact, there are at least 20 terms used by the above-mentioned governments for particular marine protected areas including marine parks and marine reserves.
