Oppose. Although Notre Dame's own database is indeed a strong source, other databases, such as
ESPN or
SRCFB have not followed suit. Estime is American-born and does not use an accent on his
Twitter or
Instagram accounts. Also, his entry has seven inline cites, none of which indicates his name as accented. Whatever the reason for his name being accented at Notre Dame (possibly to indicate how the name should be pronounced), the accent is not supported by other sources. —

Joeykai: well spotted. No reason to deliberately spell the guy's name differently from official source because low MOS sports html do. We only do that for the blond Serbian tennis lady who can't have a Serbian name on en.wp because. The News & Observer The Lawton Constitution The Virginian-Pilot Star Democrat - all of these WP:RS fit for purpose sources spell the guy as his team. He's not Serbian or blonde, why diacritic strip?

Oppose. As noted above, his own blue-check socials don't use "é". Per
WP:NCP, "For minor spelling variations (capitalization, diacritics, punctuation and spacing after initials, etc.): when a consistent and unambiguous self-published version exists, it is usually followed."162 etc. (
