Khalil al-Hayya was also reported to have been killed according to the OSINT X account, @sentdefender. This is a well known and well regarded account in the Open Source Intelligence community. Dbrad52 ( talk) 22:36, 2 January 2024 (UTC)
"CCTV footage released by MTV Lebanon shows the attack, that took place at around 5:41 PM local time, was a strike which was evident in the footage sound." I'm unclear what this is trying to say. The use of "strike" is ambiguous here. I'm unsure if this is requesting we perform original research. In fact, I'm not sure what this is claiming at all. I do understand this is claiming the attack occurred at 5:41 PM, just not sure what else it is saying. -- Yamla ( talk) 11:26, 3 January 2024 (UTC)
"Perpetrator: Israel" should be taken with a pinch of salt, as Israel authorities have not (yet?) recognized it. At least, this (small) doubt should be mentionned in the frame. (related U.S. officials are anonymous, this information is included in the headline of the article, but is not confirmed in any way in the article itself.)
"Type: Drone attack". This is questionable as well. Six 100Kg missiles were used. Not sure Israeli drones may have so much big missiles. Some sources are talking of a plane.
"Motive: Unknown"... Is this a joke?? If you choose to attribute the attack to Israel, the motive is unknow??
(as I'm emotionaly too much involved in this conflict, it is more honest IMHO that I don't perform this change myself) Jay Lev ( talk) 11:07, 4 January 2024 (UTC)
Not seeing what's inherently notable about the assassination that would preclude this information just being included on Saleh al-Arouri's main page. Longhornsg ( talk) 23:43, 5 January 2024 (UTC)
The first paragraph is as follows: “On 2 January 2024, Saleh al-Arouri, the deputy leader of Hamas, was killed in an Israeli strike on an office in the Dahieh neighborhood of Beirut, Lebanon. The strike also killed six other individuals, including additional high-ranking Hamas militants.”. I think that some caution should be added, like “was killed in an speculated Israeli strike on an office”. Israel did not confirm or deny its involvement in this assassination. It can also be done by the US. 2A06:C701:4702:4400:2092:8519:427C:C641 ( talk) 12:20, 8 January 2024 (UTC)
