Could someone please clarify the county location issue. I assume it is in the part of Oxfordshire which used to be part of Berkshire. Wimstead 10:33, 16 August 2006 (UTC)
The postal address reflects the traditional County to which the house belonged - Berkshire. The house was constructed, altered and presented to the National Trust when it was in Berkshire FOR all purposes. It has only been since 1974 that there has been any doubt. Administratively the property is in Oxfordshire. However the Department of the Environment stated on 1st April 1974 that the boundary changes were only for local government administration purposes - they were not designed to re-arrange traditional loyalties or geography. 163.1.117.148 ( talk) 22:51, 3 July 2008 (UTC)

Hello! During late June, July and some of August, I'm working on a paid project sponsored by the National Trust to review and enhance coverage of NT sites. You can find the pilot edits here, as well as a statement and contact details for the National Trust. I am leaving this message when I make a first edit to a page; please do get in touch if you have any concerns. Lajmmoore ( talk) 16:19, 3 July 2022 (UTC)
