JanLuKr (
talk·contribs) This user has declared a connection. (I was a bachelor student in Arren Bar-Even's research group in 2017 and I published 2 papers with him in 2018. Today, I am doing my PhD in a similar research field without any relation to Arren Bar-Even (he died in 2020). I was not paid in any way for writing this article and wrote it in my leisure time. I am simply fascinated by Bar-Even's research and would like to pay tribute to his contributions to the field of synthetic biology and metabolic engineering (not to his persona). To highlight my neutrality, I removed/changed all adjectives that could be considered as biased from my article and adjusted the tone, too.)
AfC comment
Earlier AfC reviewers had questioned the subject's notability, but I have accepted this on the basis that although the sources currently cited are insufficient to establish notability, a Google search produces several hits, and also the person's citation metrics etc. suggest they are (were) a leading figure in their field, and as such likely to meet
WP:NACADEMIC. If a subject matter expert feels otherwise, feel free to ping me or deal with this article as they see fit. --
