This article should be renamed "Apomorphy and synapomorphy" as apomorphy is the more general term (derived trait) that is often explained first. In fact, the lead sentence of this article lists apormophy first and it is also described first in the next sentence and in the first section (Description) of this article. danielkueh ( talk) 12:51, 13 October 2021 (UTC)
The Short description Derived characters of a clade
does not make sense to me. Please could somebody add a simpler introduction to the subject for the lead and a clearer SD? —
