- I would suggest it being about the classical era phenomenon of Jewish, Christian and Roman antihellenism. That is the meaning with which scholarship refers to the phenomenon. The modern Greek meaning of "anthellinismos" is completely absent from all bibliography.--

- I am now working on Byzantine Greeks. I will return to antihellenism once I done with that. In the mean time there are many references to antihellenism, in the ancient sense, in Google books.-- Anothroskon ( talk) 13:52, 23 November 2009 (UTC)

I'm re-aiming this from Hellenism to Classical antiquity. Train of thought:
- Hellenism is a disambiguation.
- According to the discussion above, the term occurs in the literature mainly to mean a sentiment/movement appearing in various religions in the era. Christianity is mentioned, which rules out the Hellenistic period, so neither Hellenistic religion, nor Hellenistic philosophy, nor Hellenistic Judaism, nor anything else Hellenism points to can be the correct choice. On the other hand, Roman religion is mentioned as well, which rules out anything later than late antiquity.
- There doesn't seem to be any article on "Religion in classical antiquity"; classical antiquity appears to be the closest thing there is. Filjil ( talk) 07:07, 22 November 2014 (UTC)
