Congratulations to the authors of this high-quality article. I am puzzled by the "A." that appears (4 times) at the start of her name. Either this is a typo (but 4 times?) or if not, the article is lacking an explanation of what it stands for. --

NSH001 I wish we knew, but we don't. It seems likely that she used her second name, as did her sister Bice, who was known in Italy as that, but as Emma in England. We're still trying to find her birth record which might answer that. I found the
Brescia State Archives registry, but digitized records for Gardone only seem to go to 1812, thus it will require on the ground research. Maria Grazia Suriano is trying to find Dieci mesi in America so we can figure out if she studied in the US. And of course, what happened to her after 1931? All puzzling stuff, but an important pacifist for Italy and after collaborating with Suriano, and combining our sources, we decided to go ahead and publish it with the hopes that it might inspire someone to dig further. Glad you enjoyed it.
