Oppose The Sonny Bono song is also known in some compilation recordings as "And the Beat Goes On" - and was the title of his autobiography, and was the title of the documentary on Sonny and Cher.

Added the hatnote. I was leaning toward support, but... I'll stand neutral on this. "And the Beat Goes On" can be often, if not mistakenly, associated with the Sonny/Bono song. However, as said, there are no other songs of the exact same name. I really, really want to support this, but I reluctantly created
And the Beat Goes On (Sonny & Cher song) as redirect.

Oppose. The nomination is based on a common misunderstanding of
WP:PTOPIC. The test is not whether there is another article sharing the same title, but whether the title could refer to another topic covered in a Wikipedia article of any title. In this case, there is indeed ambiguity with another topic covered in Wikipedia. --

Support. Contrary to the above oppose !votes, the governing guideline here is
WP:SONGDAB, which says "unless more than one article about songs of the same name exist, there is no need to disambiguate any further" by adding the artist name. There are no other songs called "And the Beat Goes On" with "And", and songs titled "The Beat Goes On" aren't ambiguous per
WP:SMALLDETAILS. The Sonny and Cher song isn't known as "And the Beat Goes On"
[1] despite the fact that the phrase itself appears in some of the lyrics, so there's little risk of confusion there that a hat note won't resolve.--
