I removed the following sentences from the article because I am pretty sure that this information is dated and not current.

I have supplied the citation (Section 503 of the Foreign Service Act of 1980, as amended by the Department of State Authorization Act, Fiscal Year 2003) and reworded the correction.

Who are the shareholders in AIT and should it not be properly called "American Institute in Taiwan, Inc." or does it have a long corporate type name...maybe not? any one know?

AIT is a non-profit organization and has no shareholders. It is simply the "American Institute in Taiwan" or AIT and is not Incorporated or Limited or anything else. Mattremote ( talk) 07:13, 26 March 2010 (UTC)
The link for David Dean, the director, should not point to david dean, the football coach — Preceding unsigned comment added by 137.48.72.160 ( talk) 23:54, 3 October 2011 (UTC)

If I'm browsing to an article expounding on the particulars of a facet of diplomatic relations between two nations, I probably don't need a first-grade primer on what diplomacy is.
However, if I see a sentence about the US establishing diplomatic relations with China and I click on that link, I'm probably going to be less surprised by finding information on US relations with China than I would be by finding a basic primer on diplomacy. I propose to merge
Talk:American institute in taiwan into Talk:American Institute in Taiwan. Because
American institute in taiwan is only a redirect page for
American Institute in Taiwan for a long time;
Talk:American institute in taiwan is only a blank page from this talk page was created until now, I think it is a good idea to complete this page merger.
