I read about this one in—of all places—a column by the famous math and polymath man Martin Gardner about 15 years ago in Scientific American. Gardner mentioned the book because of his lifelong preoccupation with mirror symmetry. I'd be interested in a quote or two from the early chapters and a little more on the plot.
