The 'Recent research' of this article doesn't sound reliable - I don't think that recent research about alpha diversity is limited only on these four people, and together with missing notes about historical perspective this sounds more like personal advertisement... arne 09:12, 7 June 2007 (UTC)
Strongly agree. This article could be improved by anyone even slightly knowledgeable on the subject (which doesn't include me, alas). 86.0.204.154 ( talk) 00:13, 4 April 2008 (UTC)
How about rolling alpha, beta and gamma diversity into a single article? Richard001 09:13, 13 August 2007 (UTC)
In fact, this page as written isn't about alpha-diversity -- only the first section is. Gafox1 ( talk) 19:04, 16 February 2009 (UTC)
All the diversity indices could be eliminated from this page, as they are already treated in pages of their own. I think this page should just contain the description of what alpha diversity is and how it relates to and differs from beta and gamma diversity. I'm planning to take the page towards that direction soonish but will wait to see if someone objects first. Cricetus ( talk) 21:15, 29 November 2011 (UTC)
