The English version of Alonso de Ojeda is the only one, among the Spanish, French and German versions, that states Ojeda to be of noble Bulgarian origin. It is strange: in those days Spain was notoriously xenophobic and intolerant in matters of religion and the Orthodox Okhrid would not have much chance in making a career.
