Why is her name spelled with a "y"? "Alona" is far more common in English-language media. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Hyperkine ( talk • contribs) 21:13, 7 April 2008 (UTC)
It`s name is translated from the Ukrainian language. Sign "ьо" - "y".

Thanks...do you know why it was picked up as "Alona" by English-language media? ~hyperkine —Preceding

No. It is probably necessary to use ö, but the given letter in the English alphabet is absent. --StS 20:45, 8 April 2008 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by StSasha ( talk • contribs)
The table on the side seems to imply that she won the 2008 Australian Open singles title, which she did not. I'm not sure what her result was, so I can't correct it. Also I'm confused about the purpose of the table -- is this supposed to be the best result in each major? I don't think it is clearly labeled. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Tpl6060 ( talk • contribs) 03:38, 31 August 2008 (UTC)
