Dysprosia, I don't understand what is NPOV in the sentence "She doesn't hesitate to use her female beauty to increase her popularity. " She explictly chose to use her beauty which other female players could have done too. She admitted that in an interview and you can also see the many pics of her on her homepage Andries 12:26, 17 Apr 2004 (UTC)
Don't people applying for the GM title generally also have to have a mininum ELO of 2500? RedWolf 22:29, Jun 4, 2004 (UTC)
1.50c To have achieved at some time or other a rating as follows: GM 2500 IM 2400 WGM 2300 WIM 2200
1.45b For a GM norm at least 3 of the opponents must be GMs.
1.50 Requirements for award of the title, having achieved norms 1.50a Two or more norms in events covering at least 27 games
Well now that Alexandra got the title of GM officially from FIDE and has passed the rating of 2500, the question of her GM title is over. Well done, young lady!
The FIDE website still lists her as WGM - I remember this was a problem for Judit Polgar for some time, as well. See her rating card: [3] Can someone pls confirm FIDE is out of date? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Polgar ( talk • contribs) 04:04, 12 May 2008 (UTC)

I have added the news reference that discusses the debate surrounding Alexandra Kosteniuk.
I am entirely sure that the chess is cool podcast is NOT weekly. I believe it cannot be described as regular either. I think the only thing you could call it is a podcast. I 03:22, 30 November 2006 (UTC)
Very true, the last podcast was posted on the 25th of October 2006.

I think the chessqueen is expecting a little chessqueen or -knight! When I was looking at some of her recent pictures I definitely saw some pregnancy related chubbiness in her figure. If it's true I wish her and her husband, Diego Garces all the happiness in the world!

She is expecting a baby (now about 7 months pregnant) as she tells on her website.

The article said that she won the female 2001 European championship. Someone changed it to "male" a short time ago. I removed it pending clarification. Which 2001 European championship did she win? Bubba73 (You talkin' to me?), 17:49, 16 March 2010 (UTC)
The section entitled "Chess Career" says:
"... In 2013, she became the first woman to win the men’s Swiss Chess Championship.
That year she also won the women's Swiss Championship, and thus became the first
person to win both the women’s and men’s national chess titles in Switzerland. ..."
.
While I appreciate that terms like "men's title" or "men's championship" can be a quick
way to distinguish from Women's-only events and titles, such terms can also leave some
readers confused as to how a woman could have a "Men's" title.
.
To be precise, there are no Men's titles or events. There are indeed Women's-only events
and such events contribute to Women's titles. The other events and titles are open to anyone.
.
Not sure what the fix is though; because, dropping the prefix "Men" while eliminating one
source of confusion will probably create a different type of confusion. If anyone has a fix,
please propose it here first so it has time for many eyes to contemplate its clarity.

Since there was no feedback here as to which approach to correcting the above segment would be the least confusing, I added a parenthetical and put the incorrect term, Men's, in quotes.
This leaves the original passage almost completely in tact while also removing erroneous impression that there are "Men's" title in chess.
