Is the offer to exchange for the George Cross still open to living recipients? JAJ ( talk) 04:14, 9 March 2008 (UTC)
I do have to say that at first glance you would think that this was a medal awarded to surf lifesavers, perhaps for winning a paddling race, rather than for saving the life of another. Could there be some other way of titling this? -- Roisterer ( talk) 09:12, 7 March 2013 (UTC)
Ten years ago, this issue was raised and got one response. The Royal Warrant, the Order of Wear until 1964 and 500+ gazette notices call the award The Albert Medal. It is like calling the Victoria Cross, the Victoria Cross for valour or calling the George Cross, the George Cross for gallantry. Anthony Staunton ( talk) 01:53, 30 December 2023 (UTC)
