"Dramaturg [sic]"?

Why the (single) quotation marks in this sentence?: "He has contributed to the development as both 'dramaturg' sic and director of workshops ... [etc.]"

If he was the dramaturg, then what is the irony implied by the quotation marks? Autodidact1 ( talk) 07:30, 19 March 2013 (UTC) reply

Confusing wording

they opened the Manhattan Theatre Club, almost costing the founder Lynn Meadow her new board.

What does this mean??? Omc ( talk) 03:08, 27 September 2015 (UTC) reply
