WWII or WWI?

It says here: "Mr. Leakey … had one of his legs amputated during World War II …". However, in Intimate Relations, it says "…. Stanley [based on Mr. Leakey] … is a one-legged World War I VETERAN …" and, according to http://www.lasbury.com/genealogy/getperson.php?personID=I15836, Mr. Leakey was born in 1895: so, he could have fought in WWI but would have been rather too old to have fought in WWII. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Shire Horsey ( talkcontribs) 19:11, 5 March 2019 (UTC) reply
