Iam from akkalkot taluka.I believe in only facts.If you see the past history of akkalkot and solapur(south solapur),you will find that all that areas were kannada dominated.My grand mother does not speak marathi.Our grand parents spoke only kannada.Do you know that solapur was called sonnalige in kannada before it was merged with maharastra? According to the Mahajan Commission report, Akkalkot taluk, the south portion of Solapur taluk, including Solapur City and Mangalveda regions in Maharashtra should be transferred to Karnataka.Our grouse is that the border villages have been deprived of basic infrastructure all these years.There is drinking water problem in Akkalkot and there are no proper roads in the villages of the taluka.
