It says "After leaving school without qualifications, he had a number of jobs – including as a Greater Manchester Police Constable – before returning to education." Can you really become a Police Constable without any form of education? That sounds odd. He must have graduated from a Police Academy of sorts. In that case it should be "returning to academic education" or something similar.--
