The spiny squirrel article contains a bit of 1911 text concerning members of the genera Xeres and Atlantoxeres. I'm not convinced that there's needs to be an article combining these two genera. A separate article for each seems adequate. If there were such an article I think "African ground squirrel" would be the better name. -- Aranae 06:16, September 5, 2005 (UTC)
A Google search on Xerus, the first result is an XCOR spacecraft design, not a rodent. disambig?
