"In doing so, he became the fourth vice president or former vice president to run for that post WITH two presidential candidates [...]" What does "with" mean in this sentence / what is the overall meaning of this sentence? This sentence is unclear to me. Perhaps it should instead read: "In doing so, he became the fourth vice president or former vice president to run for that post with two DIFFERENT presidential candidates [...]"
"A diplomat's life is made up of three ingredients: protocol, Geritol, and alcohol."— Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.114.30.127 ( talk) 19:37, 18 April 2005
Different accounts say that Adlai died in Chicago, others say he died in Bloomington. Any thoughts? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Srcrowl ( talk • contribs) 21:50, 27 September 2005
Hi, I intended to translate this biography into french but I noticed a whole chapter disapeared. Since I saw in the history of the page that there already has been some reverts since this edit, I was wondering if it had been left this way on purpose (even if I would not understand why) and I did'nt change it myself. I hope someone will notice this soon, -- fr:Poulos. talk — Preceding unsigned comment added by 13:26, 13 June 2006 ( talk) 82.228.194.110
Sorry--not sure how to create a new topic here. But I am puzzled by the claim that Stevenson was one of two former VPs to be nominated for the presidency. Have I misunderstood the claim? What about Richard Nixon, Walter Mondale, George H. W. Bush, and Al Gore? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.215.215.88 ( talk) 03:01, 4 November 2007 (UTC)
The sentence is still unclear and misleading. It would be much simpler if it read: Stevenson is one of only two persons to have been nominated for Vice-President of the US with a different running mate after having finished a full term as Vice-President. As it reads now, Cheney, Gore, GHW Bush, and Richard Nixon all were nominated for a second term as VP after finishing their first term. 202.170.125.17 ( talk) 11:40, 21 September 2009 (UTC)
