While I can appreciate that the original title of the wikipedia article on the museum was awkward at best, until the museum stops marketing itself as the Wild Center, it would seem foolish for us to avoid mentioning the alternate title. Actually, given the naming conventions' call for article titles to use the most common name of a thing, one could make a case that the museum article ought to be titled The Wild Center. I am not advocating that, but I do feel strongly that we should mention the best-known name of the museum parenthetically wherever the proper name appears. -- Mwanner | Talk 00:52, 5 December 2007 (UTC)
I'm not sure if either of the previous posts are from people who have ever been to either the Adirondack Museum or the Wild Center but if you do a quick Google search it is quite apparent that although both of these nonprofit organizations, they are separate entities. The Adirondack (ADK) Museum is located Blue Mountain Lake, NY and is a museum which focuses on the ecology of the Adirondack Mountains and more so on "the history of man's relation to the Adirondacks" [1]. The Wild Center began operation in 2004, is located in Tupper Lake, NY, and is more scientifically focused on the respective species the Adirondacks. [2]
