The article says, "The coconut mite is small, with a length of about 220 µm and a width of 36 to 52 µm; this is too small to see with the naked eye." However, the limit of human vision is generally given as 40 µm. 220 µm is .22 mm, which is small but much bigger than the diameter of a human hair.
