Why Windows specific?

How can such a generic term as "access token" be specific to Windows? -- Mortense ( talk) 17:51, 31 December 2010 (UTC) reply

You are so right. Most notably, the concept of access tokens as used in OAuth could be described. Unfortunately, I am a newby in this area and do not dare write about it! Gpermant ( talk) 15:35, 1 June 2021 (UTC) reply

I agree that the concept of "access token" is much broader. As I understand it, they may pertain to any software system. DavidCJames ( talk) 19:51, 6 September 2021 (UTC) reply

rewrite article

this whole article needs to be rewritten, it doesn't really describe what a user token is at all, it just describes how windows uses user tokens BigTandy ( talk) 05:29, 20 November 2021 (UTC) reply

I suggest adding precision in the article title, I dont know if this may be relevant for windows but it is definitively too broad Raphael.audet ( talk) 10:55, 15 December 2021 (UTC) reply

Link to RFC6750 definitely should be there, since it describes OAuth implementation of access tokens, most common one. https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/html/rfc6750 Iambackend ( talk) 14:44, 8 June 2022 (UTC) reply
