Altenmann I'm slightly confused by your revert of the short description. They can be different from the wikidata description, and even if they couldn't you updated the wikidata description to the same thing afterwards?

Shaws username: Yes they can; I dont know why, but yes. However in this case it would make no sense, because our version is of better English, so better change the central place, what I did. -

They've got different purposes (
WP:SD-VS-WIKIDATA) although this is probably one of the times it's ok for them to be the same, but the wikidata description doesn't work as a short description unless it's imported as one. (You can see if you search from the wikipedia.org page or open it on the app the description doesn't show up at the moment)

I see. Plenty of confusion. Isn't wikidata a centralized database to unify data across wikipedias? And to say that description of wikitata must differ from description of wikipedia article is much along the lines of the
Haddocks' Eyes :-). -

Yep, and I don't really touch wikidata but thats the impression I get (or at least a place to check things). I don't think it's that they have to differ, just cases where it might make sense. From a (very brief) look at the history, it looks like they were unlinked for descriptions after people started
vandalising wikidata and things that don't meet en wiki policies. I know the short desc helper can push an initial short decription to wikidata, but I'm not sure about subsequent ones, so they're probably going to end up drifting apart over time.
