Merge proposal

I propose merging 99th Infantry Regiment (France, 1757–1803) into 99th Infantry Regiment (France, 1855–1997), because it is the same unit. The French Wikipedia does not separate the two identically-named regiments and has only one article - fr:99e régiment d'infanterie. Anyways, the number 99 was only given to this regiment in 1791 and previously it was actually the Royal Deux-Ponts Regiment. Either way, the current split is illogical and the articles should be merged into one.-- Cukrakalnis ( talk) 19:02, 28 November 2023 (UTC) reply

To Merge them both to the joint title (currently a redirect), 99th Infantry Regiment (France) would keep the title simpler and be consistent with the French page. Klbrain ( talk) 11:03, 30 June 2024 (UTC) reply
