Hi Karen -- sorry to remove your Charlemagne bit, but it wasn't really correct, plus it repeated the first entry for the year. The kingdom was called Lotharingia, and NOT Lorraine -- although modern Lorraine is the French-language version and the departement is based on the duchy/previously kingdom. Anyway, by reducing it to Lorraine, I think it encourages a false viewpoint.
