@ Nick-D: Janes reported in December 2021 that the 6th Aviation Regiment was under the command of the new Army Aviation Command. [1] In the Special Forces Group article you cited the Special Operations Command Information Booklet for 6 AVN REGT being part of the Special Forces Group and dated it 2021. [2] The Information Booklet is actually dated November 2020. On page 2, 6 AVN REGT is not listed as a unit and there is no information on it under Special Operations Command Units from page 5 onwards unlike the other units. Its only mention is in page 3 as a supporting specialist under leadership (there is nothing under structure on page 2? maybe a typo it doesn't flow). In January 2021, Defence released an Army ORBAT under FOI that was current as at 31 December 2020 that has 6 AVN REGT under 16th Aviation Brigade. SOCOMD is not in the ORBAT as the person who made the FOI request asked that it be excluded. A Special Operations Command Fact Sheet on the Defence website dated July 2021 that was created for Exercise Talisman Sabre 2021 also has 6 AVN REGT as a specialist support unit in the Special Forces Group.
