G'day Guys
It is quite sad that Charles Dansie Maclurcan licensed as 2CM, arguably one of Australia's most important pioneer wireless experimenters, cannot warrant a more comprehensive article than this.
Notwithstanding, in respect of: "(However,
Ernest Fisk (later Sir Ernest) of AWA –
Amalgamated Wireless (Australasia) did conduct an isolated experiment in which music was
broadcast, in 1906)." I assume this refers to the three month operation by the Marconi Company (AWA was not formed till much later and Fisk himself did not arrive in Australia till after 1910) across the Bass Strait. But as far as I am aware, this was a solely wireless telegraphy operation, with no capability for wireless telephony. I would loved to be proved wrong; where is the evidence for this statement? Most historians agree that
Henry Sutton was the first to experiment in wireless telephony-
