Zackmaddenwausau, the effort you put into making these additions is not unnoticed. However, you should familiarize yourself with some of Wikipedia's policies, namely that Wikipedia is not a newspaper, and warns against excessive detail whenever possible. The section on the police response seemed to go against both of these policies. If you found a way to work some of the details into the already existing article, that may work. But having a long, in-depth stand-alone section on the response is too far afield and belies the essential summaries that Wikipedia articles are supposed to be.
