To anyone reading this- I just fixed what I thought was a mistake in the tense (thought sentence should be in past tense), but I don't know if this is an ongoing event. Is gas still rising from the pipe? If not, that part should be reworded to say "from X date/year to X date/year, X amount of gas was released into the water per day until the leak was finally fixed in X date/year".
