I've had a go at this as used on other club season articles. It's a bit fiddly to maintain as you have to move the flags and names around manually to line them up. I've only used league starts as an indicator but maybe it should include the cups as well? It'd need a table to go with it showing whatever stats we use. Yes - I was a bit bored this morning. Bladeboy1889 ( talk) 13:49, 8 December 2011 (UTC)
Had thoughts on other potential sections:
Anything else? Bladeboy1889 ( talk) 13:58, 8 December 2011 (UTC)
Wondering if Beattie should really be listed in summer despite his time of arrival as Jan 1st is the actual opening of the transfer window so should really be the cut off point? Also we need some confirmation that Lockberg has transferred out permanently as that was what was supposed to be happening after his loan - but as usual no info coming out of the club. Bladeboy1889 ( talk) 14:03, 8 December 2011 (UTC)
Made a start on this table. Currently when more than one player débuts in the same game I've got them sorted alphabetically - but it could go on squad numbers instead. Thoughts? This would form part of a new 'Firsts' section. Bladeboy1889 ( talk) 12:18, 14 December 2011 (UTC)

Some confusion over how many cards Collins has - the programme lists him as getting a card away at Wycombe but the official site doesn't and neither does soccerbase. Maybe it was rescinded? Or maybe no one noticed and he's go away with his ban? If he plays today then it'll need updating (downwards) again. Bladeboy1889 ( talk) 12:14, 7 January 2012 (UTC)
Good call - I've moved it into the squad stats bit as I think it fits in better there. Also added in what competition it was for (qualification, friendly etc) and did some merging of boxes to cut back on repetition. Bladeboy1889 ( talk) 16:49, 14 January 2012 (UTC)
Looks good so far - couple of suggestions: I don't think it fits under 'firsts', I reckon it would make more sense alongside the transfer section as it's to do with a similar subject. That said they're not transfers so it shouldn't be a subsection of that - probably a main section of it's own following transfers? Also maybe the intro could be expanded slightly (something like: the following players already contracted to the club signed new deals during the season to extend their expected tenure' - probably not quite right but we can work on that.)
There's a fix needed for the sorting of duration as it uses numbers - at the moment it thinks that six months comes after two years (as six comes after two) as it can't differentiate between the two differing measurements. By adding hidden sort fields we can get round this (eg 6 months sort as 0.5, 18 months sort as 1.5 and so on). I can update it later when I get back from the match or tomorrow if you're not sure what I mean.
Aside from that - you may already be on it but - Slew signed a new deal before he left and I seem to recall Quinn and Monty signing new deals not long ago but I can't recall whether that was last season or this - you might want to have a dig around if you don't know off hand.

He doesnt deserve to be in the current squad — Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.43.105.170 ( talk) 15:01, 24 April 2012 (UTC)
I think we should be looking to take this to GA. It's pretty much ship shape (hopefully) but I'll do a bit of a revision of a few bits of the season prose (which can sometimes get a bit repetitive when it's built up week by week. The one thing that might get pulled up is the 'first game at a stadium' section as it could get challenged as OR. There should be citable mentions in match previews for all those games that can be used as refs though. Also it'll be worth reffing soccerbase for the debut appearance, goals, etc for each player. Reviewing |
Reviewer: QatarStarsLeague ( talk · contribs) 04:40, 7 November 2012 (UTC) Phew, this is a lengthy one! I will do my best to surmount this one however, as I am passionate about soccer and I would like to do something ambitious, albeit audacious, for my second-ever review. QatarStarsLeague ( talk) 04:40, 7 November 2012 (UTC)
As with my other review we will be doing this in a serialized format, starting with the lead...
As you will notice I had to make some minor edits to the lead, mostly for prose purposes. As far as everything else is concerned, the lead is fine. It appears as if every nugget of information corroborates with the body of the article, so we will move on.
The only edit I will ask you to make, although it will not be required, is that you provide references for the tripartite mentions of attendance, highest, lowest, and average.
Just this one edit:
Due to the mention of the team's nickname or colloquial name in this section, I will ask that you provide mention of the nickname in the infobox as well, as some readers may be confused as to whether the "Blades" are Sheffield United or Sheffield Wednesday.
The rest of the review will commence after these initial issues have been rectified. QatarStarsLeague ( talk) 16:11, 7 November 2012 (UTC)
This section looks good, cleaned up a few issues.
I believe I have fixed one minor peccancy with the caption, other than that everything is great. Images check out fine.
This section good, I don"t believe I needed to fix anything here. The reference to Gary Speed some say is irrelevant, but he was so influential, so it would be egregiously inconsiderate to pass without that reference.
Had to fix a very minor couple of grammatical errors, but everything else good. Again, images are good.
Everything is good after I placed some commas.
Needed just one grammatical change here. Very good.
All I would like is a reference for the blistering heat comment. It is not required but would be preferred.
"Sheffield United Reserves played in the Central League: Central Division at the Coach and Horses ground, which is also Sheffield F.C.'s home ground." Ref need here.
Other than that, all good here.
This section is good.
I will leave off here, to restart the review tomorrow. Just one or two outstanding issues at this moment, so great job. QatarStarsLeague ( talk) 04:40, 12 November 2012 (UTC)
I believe that protocol for football squads go as such the squad listing itself doesn't need a reference. So this section will pass (phew).
This section is good.
I believe that the title of this section should be in past-tense, as opposed to present-tense. I will still pass the article even if this change isn't made, so it is entirely augmentable to your discretion.
All good here.
This set includes the subsets of transfers in, out, and contract extensions. Everything is fine for this section.
Forgive me, but is this the season's last, finite table. If so, then everything is good. If not, then you will need to edit the table so it is reflexive of the latest league standings.
Very glad to see references for all of the individual information slots here. Nice work.
The one reference you provided does serve as an umbrella, encompassing every singular entry within the section. On those grounds, this section passes.
I am ecstatic and enthralled to see reports for every single match played by the blades. Bravo. This section certainly passes.
This section is good, as references are provided for everything.
This really is a mammoth article, and it took an exhaustive amount of work to review it. Although I can say with entire disambiguity that this article is ready to pass, a couple of issues remain. Once they are addressed, I will pass the article. Very good work on this article, and congratulations. QatarStarsLeague ( talk) 01:07, 13 November 2012 (UTC)
