Whilst this article is rather short, I feel it covers all aspects of the good article criteria. The prose is well structured and clear; it is NPOV and fully referenced (I did add a {{ fact}} tag to a claim in the lead; however, there are sources contained within the main body of the article. I was going to link an inline citation there [as it is a pretty big claim to make], however, I couldn't figure it out - if someone could fix that, it would be perfect). It seems to cover all the main aspects of the crash, although I think the section about the response from the Islamic Army could (and should) be expanded. Of the two images used, one is free and the other seems to fall into 'fair use' guidelines. There are a lot of red links in the 'investigation' section - those articles should either be created or made into plain text. There are also some minor MOS issues (i.e. the way the inline references are spaced) that I will fix myself. Veesicle ( Talk) ( Contribs) 15:58, 28 February 2007 (UTC)
As part of the WikiProject Good Articles, we're doing sweeps to go over all of the current GAs and see if they still meet the GA criteria. I went through the article and made various changes, please look them over. I believe the article currently meets the criteria and should remain listed as a Good article. Altogether the article is well-written and is still in great shape after its passing in 2007. Continue to improve the article making sure all new information is properly sourced and neutral. I would recommend updating the investigation section and the access dates of the sources. If you have any questions, let me know on my talk page and I'll get back to you as soon as I can. I have updated the article history to reflect this review. --Happy editing! Nehrams2020 ( talk • contrib) 00:09, 28 May 2009 (UTC)

An article made a GA back in 2007. Though this was nominated for GAR request by an IP, after checking through the article, the numerous uncited statements are bad enough for me to open this GAR. The main problem i've noticed is the uncited statements that should be addressed. Onegreatjoke ( talk) 18:55, 6 January 2023 (UTC)
