I don't see how any of the criteria for speedy deletion applies to this page, so I'm removing the tag. - Rholton 02:53, Mar 9, 2005 (UTC)
Can somebody check if the albums that were supposodely going to be released last month were released?( Revo 15:48, 3 April 2006 (UTC))
Uh, yeah. I seriously doubt 2006 will see an APC release, or '07 for that matter. Removing it. - VJ 11:46, 29 December 2005 (UTC)
Added new albums or release dates for Ministry, Lacuna Coil and Clan of Xymox. - kilby6
Whoever added that Aiden's supposedly new cd, Our Gangs Dark Oath, was coming out April 18, 2006, is a liar. That is their debut CD and it came out June 8, 2004. I deleted it. I also moved some items from the future release catagory to the past release category, just for some cleanliness. 69.1.2.194 21:20, 21 April 2006 (UTC)
The album is being widely released in Europe... Fullerov 13:50, 5 June 2006 (UTC)
Okay then, I put their new upcoming album down. So there.
I can't find anything through Google or on the wiki page for Interpol that suggests they are going to disband. Suggest truthiness=0. Bollocks. Tim-at-snap 10:13, 2 January 2007 (UTC)
This needs to be updated. Also, is it worldwide sales, US sales, or what? That needs to be made clear.-- Richy 17:26, 29 May 2006 (UTC)
I have update it with www.mediatraffic.de data. mediatraffic week by week make an album top40 with the sales in this week worldwide.you only must add the sales data week by week. i dunno i have the time to update everyweek but i will do the possible. User:zagozagozago
carnt find any evidence of them releasing a new album? there greatest hits was last year... think someone is getting confused with a Darran Hayes album?
Do we have any definite evidence that Savage Garden have an album planned for release? Unless it's a greatest hits collection, I don't think any new material is very likely.
IMO, the table for already released albums should be formatted the same way as those yet to be released... and the same way as they are in 2005 in music.
Please, the Top Hits in the United States are only those who have achieved a top 20 position on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. As songs achieve higher positions on the chart, I intend to register them there.
According to the manual of style, the thousands separator (if used) for numbers should be a comma. A period is the decimal separator. So whoever keeps doing it, please stop using the period as a thousands separator? Thanks! – Dvandersluis 18:42, 29 September 2006 (UTC)
I think this section should be deleted. Most, if not all the artists on this list have not annouced that they are doing an album this year. I havn't heard anything about the Beatles getting back together; I think most of the artists on this list, are wishful thinking.
I am trying to get a list of recent cover versions for a non-wiki project I'm doing. It would be great and interesting to have a list of 2006 covers on this page. What do people think? MrsPlum 12:31, 1 December 2006 (UTC)
Someone who added recent events on the Events Timeline obviously does't know much English. I can't even decipher half of it. I'm not even sure a lot of the information is right. Thefreakshow 18:19, 2 December 2006 (UTC)
The band list in bands disbanded was out of order a bit, fixed that up. Oh, and some of the albums in "albums released" Is a bit off, though i have no idea how to work with tables
-- 74.129.135.253 00:27, 3 January 2007 (UTC)
Fixed the tables because some album titles wheer on the place of the release day
82.174.149.173 17:24, 22 August 2007 (UTC)
Couple of questions about the table(s) of releases:
1. How are we defining "release date"? According to the Albums WikiProject, we should be using the earliest known date, but what if an album is released exclusively while on tour, for example, and then becomes available to the general public at a later date?
2. Does this list include releases exclusive to iTunes or some other electronic form, or are we limiting ourselves to just physical CDs (or vinyl, or cassettes, etc.)?
3. Should we be including reissues of previously released albums (either remastered or not)?
4. Are independent releases counted? And if so, just how "indie" are we allowed to get?
5. And finally, I added the Country of Origin column but don't know if it's a good idea to keep it after seeing the
2006 in music (UK) link at the top. Any suggestions?
Killjoy966 00:17, 6 September 2007 (UTC)
I realize at some point this was strictly American (U.S.) slanted article but it now appears there are several sections documenting best-selling singles, albums on a GLOBAL scale so I would think this would remove that bias. Can someone offer a SPECIFIC reason why this should still be considered to lack a "world" perspective? GBrady ( talk) 21:50, 10 July 2008 (UTC)
Unsure why two sections? I'm guessing to differentiate between how the albums sold within 2006 versus a running count on how many they've sold TOTAL up until the CURRENT year? If this is so, I'd say the most encyclopedic thing to do (and in the interest of keeping the article at a nice readable length) is to only include how the albums sold within 2006 and update the comprehensive total sales figures at each album's respective article. Comments? GBrady ( talk) 21:54, 10 July 2008 (UTC)
"Best Singles Sales (Worldwide) (The following are accurate points of singles while they have been within the top 40, on the UWC)"
In that section, I'm not sure what the "UWC" is. It may very well be a respected chart globally but I think it might be helpful to footnote where the data comes from. Also, I think the word "best" implies artistic quality and should be replaced with "Top selling" if this is strictly a statement of units sold. Comments? GBrady ( talk) 21:57, 10 July 2008 (UTC)
