The first paragraph in the Overview section is plain wrong:
As at any general election, the "public" [recte electorate] had multitude of choices. One of the least likely outcomes was a Fine Gael single party government, but a continuation of the three-party government was barely more likely; if the swing had gone to Fine Gael and Labour, a two-party coalition was far more likely. A Fianna Fáil majority government was theoretically possible, likewise a Fianna Fáil minority government. Depending on the election results, there might also have been a Fianna Fáil-Labour coalition, as there was in 1992, or a Fianna Fáil-Green Coalition, as there was after 2009. The paragraph needs to be completely re-worded. Scolaire ( talk) 14:11, 28 January 2014 (UTC)

@ Spleodrach: In 1997 Irish general election#Results, the National Party is displaying as the "Catholic Democrats"; however they did not become the Catholic Democrats under later chronologically. I've tried changing it to National Party, however this does work either. Do you know how to get the correct name to display? CeltBrowne ( talk) 10:49, 23 March 2023 (UTC)
