Done: Preamble, Chapters 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. To do : Chapters 6-17; also main article. I'm getting there at the rate of about a chapter a day; next week I'll have a bit more time than I've had this week, so progress should hopefully be faster. Davidcannon 13:16, 29 Feb 2004 (UTC)
Update: I haven't forgotten about this project - I've just been up to my ears in other stuff this week (I thought I'd have plenty of free time, but I was wrong). Nevertheless, Chapter 6 (The parliament) should be uploaded tomorrow:-) Davidcannon 11:21, 4 Mar 2004 (UTC)
Update: At last I've been able to "finish" Chapter 6. (I put the word in quotes, because nothing on Wikipedia is ever really finished). Chapter 6 required a lot more writing on my part than the other chapters, which partly explains why you've heard nothing from me for a while. Now done : Preamble, Chapters 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6. To do : Chapters 7-17; also main article. Davidcannon 13:23, 10 Mar 2004 (UTC)
Update: Please don't think I've forgotten about this project. I'm a bit delayed on Chapter 7, because I'm doing some background research about it. In the course of my research, I've come across a lot of information about side issues, which have generated a lot of new articles (which some of you will have noticed) - but please don't think I've forgotten about this CONSTITUTION project. I haven't. Chapter 7 will be up and running in the next couple of days. I've done quite a bit of reading to see how the relationship between the executive and legislative branches of government have related to each other, not only in constitutional theory but also in practice, over the years. I have resumed my work on the Constitution of Fiji, after an incredibly long six-month break. I never intended to leave it so long, but I've just been so busy with other things. This morning I uploaded commentaries on Chapters 7 and 8, and will begin work later today on Chapter 9 (The Judiciary). David Cannon 01:11, 24 Sep 2004 (UTC)
Looks like Davidcannon finished chapters 1-11, and 17, but not 12-16. Would be nice if someday someone wrote articles on 12-16. Right now they contain the complete source text of those sections of the constitution, which is not acceptable. -- Xyzzyplugh 13:27, 21 April 2007 (UTC)
The new Constitution of the Republic of Fiji has been adopted and came in force on 6th September 2013. The article should be rewrited. Aotearoa ( talk) 08:09, 12 September 2013 (UTC)
