I propose merging 1986 United States Senate special election in North Carolina into 1986 United States Senate election in North Carolina for consistency with other pages for such situations where a special election for the last few months of a senate term and a regular election for the next term as held simultaneously, as detailed with the examples listed on the Requested Moves section on Talk:1946 United States Senate elections in California. In addition, the text for both the ledes of both articles in the paragraphs in the primary election sections are substantially identical. If the merger goes through the target page should probably be moved to 1986 United States Senate elections in North Carolina. 2601:241:300:B610:5184:209C:CD4A:AA30 ( talk) 04:49, 29 December 2021 (UTC)
The result of the move request was: Moved. ( non-admin closure) Adumbrativus ( talk) 05:05, 25 October 2022 (UTC)
1986 United States Senate election in North Carolina → 1986 United States Senate elections in North Carolina – For consistency with other pages that cover both regular and special elections, such as 1946 United States Senate elections in California, 1946 United States Senate elections in Connecticut, 1944 United States Senate elections in Indiana, 1946 United States Senate elections in Ohio, 1928 United States Senate elections in Michigan, and 2010 United States Senate elections in Illinois. 24.15.214.201 ( talk) 23:15, 17 October 2022 (UTC)
